STANDARD INDOOR ROUND AND SCORING

 

 7.7.1   STANDARD UNIT

 

7.7.1.1   The standard Unit shall consist of 60 arrows, shot as 3 games, at a distance of 20 yds.

 

7.7.1.2   Each game shall consist of 4 ends of 5 arrows per end.

 

7.7.2   TARGETS

 

7.7.2.1   The target face shall be 40cm in diameter and shall be of a dull blue colour.  The spot shall be two white rings with a blue "X" in the centre ring.  All inscribed scoring rings shall be white.  The X-ring shall be used for tie breakers only.

 

7.7.2.2   The bulls-eye shall be 8cm diameter and the X-ring 4 cm diameter, with 4 succeeding rings respectively 16, 24, 32, and 40cm diameter.

 

7.7.3   SHOOTING POSITIONS

 

7.7.3.1   Shooting positions shall provide sufficient space to enable 2 archers to shoot at the same butt simultaneously.

 

7.7.4   SHOOTING RULES

 

7.7.4.1    An archer shall stand so that he has one foot on either side of shooting line.

 

7.7.4.2   The time limit per end shall be 5 minutes.

 

7.7.4.3    All other rules listed under SANIFAA Tournament rules shall apply.

 

7.7.4.4    In the event of equipment failure, the archer will have 15 minutes repair time without holding up the tournament.  He shall be allowed to shoot the arrows so missed after the final end of the last game, with a maximum of fifteen arrows.

 

7.7.5   SCORING

 

7.7.5.1   The scoring is 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 from the spot outwards.

 

7.7.5.2    All arrows will be scored and recorded before touching or drawing any arrows.

 

7.7.5.3    An arrow cutting through the line between two rings and touching the area of higher value shall be scored as such.

 

7.7.5.4   Witnessed bounce outs or arrows passing completely through the target shall be re-shot.

7.7.5.5   Hits on the wrong target will be scored as misses.

 

7.7.5.6    An arrow dropped by an archer on the shooting line, may be re-shot if it lies within 10 feet of the shooting line.

 

7.7.5.7    If an archer shall shoot more than 5 arrows in an end, only the 5 arrows of the lower value shall be scored.

 

7.7.5.8    If an archer shoots less than 5 arrows in one end, he may shoot the remaining arrows if the omission is discovered before the end is officially completed, otherwise, such unshot arrows shall be scored as misses.
