3 D -  (RUBBER ANIMAL TARGET ROUNDS)

SANIFAA 3D rounds are normally shot in the 'Bowhunter' Competitions due to the limit number of 3D targets. (refer Bowhunter rounds)

Internationally, 3D is shot on the following rounds:

This Unknown (Unmarked) Distance Round shall comprise 28 targets made up of seven targets from each target group size. Host shall hold adequate targets in reserve.

b.         Arrows to be shot

The Round shall be a 1 arrow round.

c.            Distance Parameters for Target Group

The distance used for each target shall be according to the distance range for each group.  The target may be set at the minimum or maximum distance provided, or at any distance within the scale for that group. No target of the same group shall be set at the same actual distance of others in that group.

Target Group Adult distance Junior distance Cub distance

Group 4 targets 10 to 20 yards 10 to 20 yards 7 to 13 yards

d.            Scoring

To overcome a possible lack of familiarity with targets, and score areas/zones for each type of 3D target, a picture, or photo, of the 3D target, clearly showing the score areas/ zones, is to be placed in a visible position, at or near each target shooting position. Copies may be supplied to competitors, as a part of their competitor’s kit.  To score, the arrow must be lodged in the target. A witnessed “pass-through” is to be scored as agreed on by the majority of the group. (A pass-through is defined as an arrow passing completely through the target, with material 360 degrees around the arrow path, leaving both an entrance and exit hole).

The line denoting the score areas/zones shall be in the lower scoring area/zone.
